1. Purpose

The Archiving Policy of Computing and Algorithm Insight ensures the long-term preservation, accessibility, and integrity of all published content. This policy outlines the journal’s commitment to maintaining a secure and permanent archive of its scholarly articles.

2. Open Access and Self-Archiving

Computing and Algorithm Insight is an open-access journal, and authors are encouraged to self-archive their work to promote wider dissemination. Authors may deposit all versions of their article, including:

  • Preprint: The version submitted to the journal.

  • Accepted Manuscript: The peer-reviewed and revised version accepted for publication.

  • Published Version: The final formatted version published by the journal.

Authors may deposit these versions in personal websites, institutional repositories, or other public repositories (e.g., arXiv, PubMed Central) without any embargo period. All self-archived content must comply with the journal’s Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0) and include proper attribution to Computing and Algorithm Insight.

3. Journal Archiving

Computing and Algorithm Insight is committed to ensuring the long-term availability of its content through robust archiving systems. The journal archives all published articles in the following trusted digital preservation systems:

  • CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): A decentralized, geographically distributed archive that ensures the preservation of content even if the journal ceases publication. CLOCKSS stores the journal’s content securely and makes it available under specific trigger events (e.g., publisher insolvency).

  • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): A distributed archiving system that allows participating libraries to preserve and provide access to the journal’s content. LOCKSS ensures perpetual access to Computing and Algorithm Insight articles for authorized users.

4. Journal Website

All published articles are hosted on the Computing and Algorithm Insight website [Website URL], which serves as the primary access point for the journal’s content. The website is maintained to ensure continuous availability, with regular backups to prevent data loss.

5. Metadata Preservation

To enhance discoverability and ensure long-term access, Computing and Algorithm Insight deposits metadata for all published articles in major indexing services and repositories, including [specify if applicable, e.g., DOAJ, Crossref, or others]. Metadata includes DOIs, author details, abstracts, and keywords, ensuring articles remain findable and citable.

6. Contingency Plan

In the event that Computing and Algorithm Insight ceases publication or is unable to maintain its archive, the journal’s content will remain accessible through CLOCKSS and LOCKSS. These systems will trigger access to the archived content, ensuring it remains freely available to the global research community under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

7. Author Responsibilities

Authors are encouraged to include a link to the published article on the Computing and Algorithm Insight website or its DOI when self-archiving. This ensures proper attribution and directs users to the official version of record.
